ODEON says...

Winston Churchill was no-one’s first choice for Prime Minister. But in Great Britain’s ‘Darkest Hour’, through his refusal to surrender and determination to fight on, he became their last hope.

Within days of his appointment, the Nazi forces had surrounded the British and French armies and were on the brink of annihilating them. Facing almost certain defeat, Churchill was forced to rally the nation and convince his colleagues to continue the desperate fight for their freedom, against any odds.

Gary Oldman stars as Winston Churchill in ‘Darkest Hour’, a critically-acclaimed biopic that features one of his finest performances.

Brilliant. By far the best film I have seen for ages. The acting is top notch and you end up being caught up in the emotion of the film. This is movie making and story/history telling at its best. Go see.

A very well done

I immensely enjoyed this film. The cinematography imitates the darkest hour beautifully. Prepare for a history lesson and prepare to giggle time to time. It a good film to watch if you want too. It is certainly not a must.

It is always good to know our history and even more so as a teacher. Felt some bits were over dramatised but suppose that's to be expected in 'hollywood'.
