ODEON says...
Set in 1987, during the austere days of Thatcher's Britain, 'Blinded By The Light' is a joyous, coming-of-age story about a teenager who learns to live life, understand his family and find his own voice through the words and music of Bruce Springsteen. 'Blinded By The Light' is inspired by British journalist Sarfraz Manzoor's memoir "Greetings From Bury Park."

It's not bad, it not good. Didn't make me "feel good". Seemed fairly pointless, poor storyline. Great music, but can listen to that anytime. Struggled to see what it was trying to achieve, and it didn't achieve much.

Mediocre!

Reviewer: JayADate: 2019-08-31

Evocative of the period... it was OK, run of the mill entertainment, and humorous in parts, but certainly nothing to rave about as the advertising hype would have you believe.

Cringingly bad

Reviewer: FilmLover22Date: 2019-08-15

Shocked by all of these positive reviews. Total eye roll cringe central. Well-meaning but so bloody bad. Shame they didn’t spend as much time on the script as they did sourcing all the period detail. And just because a story’s true doesn’t mean it makes an interesting/exciting film. Plus it went on, and on and on…

The Boss rules!

Reviewer: GKODate: 2019-08-10

Good acting and great story premise. Not a bad movie to lose yourself into for 117 mins of rollicking "The Boss" fun and 1980s escapism. Strong directing kept the flow relevant, through a third act slowdown. Distinctively British. Highly recommended!
