ODEON says...
Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author's alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life.

In Gerwig's take, the beloved story of the March sisters - four young women each determined to live life on her own terms - is both timeless and timely.

Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothee Chalamet as their neighbour Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

couldn’t like it

A Boring film. It lacks energy and momentum. The story was told anew and there are some artistic license done nicely. I don’t know why I was keen on it. Saoirse, Florence and Laura characters were the best in lines and story.

A brilliant film - the best version yet! I went with a friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beautifully embroidered art. Of many women with many talents in a much loved family. Storyline does jump around a bit. Many bright stars particularly Saoirse Ronan, the leading actress.

Never read the book but went to see it because of the good reviews. A case of The Emperors New Clothes ! The acting was OK but the story was dull, the characters shallow and the time line constantly leaping about was annoying. Fluffy nonsense !
