ODEON says...
The Hate U Give’ is the story of Starr Carter, whose life switches between two worlds: the mostly black neighbourhood where she lives and the mostly white school she attends.

But her life is shattered after her best friend is shot dead by a police officer. As outrage and fury explodes through her community, Starr is forced to stand up for what’s right and find her voice: she’s not going to let anybody make her be quiet.

A devastating drama based on the best-selling novel, ‘The Hate U Give’ stars Amandla Stenberg, Common and Anthony Mackie.

This is a great film, giving you the story of the injustices of black men being killed in america unlawfully. Starr needs to use her voice to stand up and change what is going on in her community.A movie to watch with the whole family of any race.

Brilliant Star

Reviewer: Saint2Date: 2018-11-01

A wonderful film, almost a Shakespearean tragedy - you know all the bad (****) that is going to and does happen and nothing can stop it. Except perhaps exceptional people - STAR. Made me weep. A truly great film and cast.
